Help Students Build a Sustainable Water System
UT San Antonio students with Engineers Without Borders are helping transform a successful water project in Biagnimi into a reliable, community-wide water system. After completing the first phase, which included drilling a 100-meter borehole and establishing the community’s first reliable year-round water source, students are now designing the next phase of the project.
Students will develop the engineering plans for an elevated water storage tank, solar-powered pumping system, solar array, and distribution network connecting community tap stands. They’ll apply civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineering skills while navigating real-world challenges such as local materials, construction requirements, community needs, and long-term sustainability.
Your support will help fund construction materials, labor, and technical and logistical costs needed to bring the system to life. Students will gain hands-on experience in humanitarian engineering, project management, cross-cultural collaboration, and remote quality assurance while helping expand access to reliable water for the Biagnimi community.
Support the next phase of the Biagnimi Water Project and help students turn engineering solutions into lasting community impact.
